Airport Cities

Development of new activities to maximise the contribution of airports to the economic and social development of the territories.

In recent decades, the main airports around the world have begun transformation processes to go from being mere transport infrastructures to become logistics hubs, nodes that attract economic activity and spaces for urban activities, which generate employment and local wealth and provide sustainable services oriented to the territories.

Years ago, Aena began an analysis process of the possible activities of the land of its airports, with the aim of maximising their contribution to the economic and social development of the territories in which it operates and generating a high impact in terms of connectivity, sustainability and efficiency.

One of its central elements are the plans to develop Airport Cities, providing a comprehensive, cutting-edge and quality service to companies and airport users and consolidating them, in short, as global connection nodes but also as hubs of activities associated with a growing flow of passengers.
