Check-in

The check-in desks are located on floor 1 of Terminal 1 (flights to mainland Spain and international flights) and Terminal 2 (inter-island flights).

You can see which check-in desk is assigned to your flight on the information screens.

You should arrive at the airport with enough time to avoid unexpected problems. Check the opening hours for check-in and last call with your airline, as well as the terminal building: generally T1 for mainland or international flights and T2 for inter-island flights.

Most airlines allow passengers to check in online on their website prior to travelling to the airport. You will get your boarding pass and you will be able to go directly through the security checkpoints if you are travelling with carry-on luggage only; remember to print all your travel documents (e-ticket, boarding pass, etc.). Some airlines charge a fee for reissuing the boarding pass at the airport (check with your airline).

Remember to print off all your travel documents (e-ticket, boarding pass, etc.). Please note that some airlines charge a fee to reissue boarding passes at the airport.

With mobile online check-in, you can check in and receive your boarding pass on your mobile device by email, SMS or mobile applications.

The airport security checkpoints are equipped with a reader that automatically detects the data codes sent by the airline to the mobile.

Security checks

Passengers accessing boarding areas must pass through a metal-detector arch at a security checkpoint and their hand luggage and any other objects that they are carrying (coats, jackets, mobile phones, keys) must undergo an x-ray inspection.

Passengers will be asked for their boarding pass before they go through the security checkpoint.

To ensure items pass through the scan, passengers must place them in the special trays put at their disposal. We recommend that you protect small, lightweight items such as glasses by placing them in your luggage or in the pockets of any clothing that is going through the scanner.

Passport Control

If the destination of your flight is a non-Schengen country, you must go through document control.

Additional documentation may be required for flights to certain destinations. Please check with your airline for further details.

Boarding

After going through the security checkpoint, look for your boarding gate on the airport screens. While you wait, there is a wide range of cafeterias and restaurants, several great Duty Free shops with interesting special offers, and different shops offering fashion and accessories, news and books, among other items.

Please keep an eye on the information screens, flights are not announced over the public address system. Be at the boarding gate when indicated on the boarding screens, or as far in advance as the airline advises.

At the boarding gate, you must show the airline personnel documentation to prove your identity. Please ask your airline about valid documentation to present to their personnel.
