New Logistics Developments
Area 1 will benefit from the strategic location and connections of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, just minutes away from millions of people and with a huge potential to compete for freight traffic between Asia, Europe and the Americas, and will capitalise on the unstoppable growth of e-commerce and air freight.
The project will establish a new state-of-the-art intermodal logistics hub and provide a unique opportunity to consolidate Spain's largest logistics hub: the Central Area comprising Madrid, Guadalajara and Toledo, which in 2020 recorded the highest volume of investment in logistics assets since 2003.

Depending on the magnitude of the development and with the aim of maximising value, the total buildable area of the airport city development will be put on the market in phases. The land with the greatest degree of progress in terms of urban planning and development of the area will be launched on the market, in addition to prioritising the activities with the greatest structural demand, which is why we started with logistics, which is capitalising on new consumer habits and the consequent boom in e-commerce.
In the coming years, progress will continue to be made in the other areas with offices and accommodation services for passengers, simulating similar and successful developments in European airports, in addition to expanding the logistics node in the first crown, adapted to the new needs of society, which as an epicentre is of crucial importance for the socio-economic development of the country.
